Job Description

Salary: $87,100 - 157,450 per year Requirements:

  • We require an active DOD TS/SCI clearance, and you may be asked to obtain a CI polygraph.
  • We require a bachelors degree in a technical field plus at least eight years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in place of the degree.
  • We need at least five years of experience as a database administrator.
  • We require at least five years of Oracle Database Administration experience with Oracle 12c, 19c, or newer.
  • We require deep experience implementing and maintaining database security controls.
  • We require strong experience with database performance tuning and monitoring.
  • We require deep experience diagnosing and resolving database issues.
  • We require hands-on experience with procedural languages such as PL/SQL, including development and optimization.
  • We require excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • We need demonstrated success communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • Preferred: prior experience supporting DISA and mission partners.
  • Preferred: experience with Oracle Data Guard or similar high-availability replication technologies.
  • Preferred: SQL tuning and diagnostics experience, including AWR and ADDM.
  • Preferred: familiarity with SAFe and Agile team environments.
  • Preferred: experience in database design and development.
  • Preferred: broad understanding of Oracle and other relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Preferred: experience using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL generally.
  • Preferred: IAT Level II baseline certification such as Security+, SSCP, CySA+, GSEC, GICSP, CND, CCNA Security, or equivalent.
Responsibilities:
  • We perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and cost and risk analysis.
  • We proactively monitor database health, optimize SQL, and remove performance bottlenecks.
  • We design and implement database schemas and structures aligned to project needs.
  • We handle daily database administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of database and replication issues.
  • We track database performance and memory usage with standard tools.
  • We create and maintain documentation for database environments, data standards, and procedures.
  • We develop and run SQL queries for routine and ad hoc requests.
  • We update existing database scripts and build new scripts to address recurring issues and improve support.
  • We implement security measures, manage user access, and support compliance with data protection policies.
  • We translate requirements and data into usable schemas, queries, scripts, and macros for master file creation and data manipulation.
  • We plan for storage needs, database growth, and infrastructure scaling.
  • We maintain data accuracy, high availability, and may provide on-call support.
  • We troubleshoot and resolve database problems.
  • We partner with developers to improve queries, stored procedures, and database design.
  • We work independently, take initiative, and provide strong leadership with minimal supervision.
